Staying Healthy During Quarantine: Day 5

Updated: Aug 31, 2021

Hey guys!

Today's health tip will be all about different healthy recipes you can make at home without needing to make a trip to the grocery store. I've found that one of the best things to do over quarantine is to make healthier versions of my favorite dishes, especially ones that take longer to prepare as I now have the time to spend to make these meals.

The first recipe that I have is this recipe for a protein-filled black bean and lentil soup: https://skinnyms.com/protein-packed-black-bean-and-lentil-soup-recipe/

This recipe does not include any meat or easily perishable vegetables, which is great if you have been avoiding trips to the grocery store and/or have been unable to purchase many fresh foods. Recipes like this soup as well as other simple chilies that can be made of canned foods and spices you have around your house are perfect for the quarantine: they are easy to make, healthy, and full of protein.

Another great and fairly healthy recipe that you can make during quarantine is veggie-filled fried rice! This recipe is very easy and can be made with all kinds of frozen veggies and any meat you may have: https://www.savorynothings.com/easy-chicken-fried-rice/

This recipe is extremely customizable to any ingredients you have laying around! Using frozen vegetables is the easiest way to incorporate veggies into your quarantine diet without having to buy fresh vegetables that will quickly spoil.

Here are a few links to lists of recipes that you can try!

I hope you try these recipes! I find that working on healthy recipes over quarantine has prevented me from snacking on unhealthy foods out of boredom. Although it may be very difficult to cook right now due to the low stock in many stores as well as being afraid or unable to leave the house to buy groceries, making sure to stock up on frozen vegetables, canned goods, and other staple pantry items whenever possible is definitely the best option for maintaining a healthy diet right now.

Have fun cooking!
